Tears streamed down my face 1 week ago when Erin texted me that baby Scottie had arrived. The news brought joy, relief, excitement, happiness, and love. See, baby Scottie’s parents have been on such a hard journey to finally have her in their arms – they never thought this day would come. But here they are now, enjoying what they have always wanted to be – parents. This journey took them through years and years of infertility: Countless egg retrievals, IVF transfers, thousands of medication needles, several miscarriages, and being told not this month more times than they can count. Right when they didn’t know what else to do, Erin’s best friend Rachel told them she would be a surrogate for them. The rest is history. On 9-19-18, on Erin’s late father and Scottie’s namesake’s birthday, as fate would have it, Scottie was born into several loving arms.

So many people love this little girl, and I know she can feel that.

Take a peek at my Session with Erin, Matt, and baby Scottie (plus her fur brothers!).

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dream of
Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dream of
Dreams really do come true
Someday, I wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That’s where you’ll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dare to
Oh why, oh why can’t I?
Well, I see trees of green and red roses too
I’ll watch them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Well, I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white
And the brightness of day
I like the dark
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
